“On mounting a rising ground, which brought the figure of his fellow-traveller in relief against the sky, gigantic in height, and muffled in a cloak, Ichabod was horror-struck on perceiving that he was headless!”
— Washington Irving, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a standalone scenario for Arkham Horror: The Card Game based on Washington Irving’s book of the same name.
The Headless Horseman Rides!
Something wicked stirs within the haunted New York glen of Sleepy Hollow! The Headless Horseman, once thought to be a phantom of folk tale, has appeared and begun claiming victims. Frederic van Brunt, a local landowner, believes in the spirit fervently, and has promised you a rich reward to descend into the hollow and banish it forever!
The Haunting of the Hollow
A coven of witches dwell within Sleepy Hollow, focusing their magic through the Horseman for a dark purpose. As the specter rides again and again, the haunted glen will be further cursed for the remainder of the scenario. If you don’t hurry, the ritual will make the Horseman unstoppable, and forever doom the region to this malevolent spirit. Your one chance lies in finding a way to stop this profane ritual. Delve into the darkened woods, find out the truth behind the legend, and cleanse Sleepy Hollow while keeping your own head!

In the official campaigns, Haunted is an effect which triggers whenever you fail an investigation at that location.

I haven’t played this scenario yet but in the official campaigns Haunted is a keyword which takes effect when you fail an investigation at that location. So in this case you would take 1 horror whenever you failed an investigation at that particular location.

Hmm ok good answer. After some digging, I think it would possibly apply after failing any type of skill test at that location.

Question – decapitated victim causes the location to gain “Haunted – take 1 horror”. If I am in this location, what is the frequency of when I take this horror? Is it when entering, only once, or is it every round. If every round, what phase is it applied?
Thank you

The Haunted effect is from The Circle Undone, and it triggers if you fail at investigating the location.

Awesome, that’s my next campaign. We just finished Carcosa and we are going to check out several of your scenarios and campaigns from this site.
Appreciate all the work you and others do. If you need anyone to test out half-life and offer feedback, etc. let me know. I’ve been doing PNP quite a bit.
Thank you!
